WAYNE FERREBEE

ABOUT

Wayne Ferrebee bases his artwork around history, paleontology, and the life sciences. Influenced by the microcosmic world of Flemish/Netherlandish painting, Ferrebee attempts to represent complicated patterns and systems with a handful of poignantly juxtaposed symbols. After studying the history of late antiquity at the University of Chicago he moved to New York City to study painting with the master portraitist Ronald Sherr at the Art Student's League. He has launched a successful line of toys, and planted an unsuccessful garden (where he nonetheless enjoys reading literature and writing about science and history).
